CO2 levels were not "high" during the ice age; i'd recommend you look very skeptically at the source that told you that.
CO2 levels actually are quite high right now. To put matters simply, here's a graph:

There is no evidence that i am aware of that suggests that more CO2 causes cooling; quite the opposite, really. All the evidence suggests that more CO2 means higher temperatures.
If you'd like to know more about CO2, and greenhouse gases in general, here are some good websites to read:

U think CO2 is high??? Quit guessing and measure it. I have and normal is about 1 to 2 parts per million. With Us burning all this fuels where did it go. There is a little thing called photosynthesis the plants convert CO2 to oxygen. Don't u remember that in high school. The green plants are growing faster to recycle the CO2 and doing a great job. If u don't have a increase in CO2 u don't have global warming.
Why u believe all this garbage is the environmentalist calculations , they just want to prove that u are driving your car too much . If u believe that u best start walking a lot.

enough CO2 crap please ! THE MAIN CAUSE of global warming is WATER VAPOR and there are so many variables that the level of CO2 could be high during an ice age ( seems it would be in any climate extreme) ( an ice age would mean less plants to absorb CO2 and the climate change around the globe would cause die offs and then rotting which would increase CO2 production )

During the last ice age, there was a very elevated level of seismic activity, including volcanic activity. I don't know if they know a reason for that, but that was why there was an elevated level of CO2. At the same time, with this elevated volcanism, other things were released into the atmosphere that clouded the atmosphere and helped with causing the cooling in the ice age.

If you realease the CO2 REALLY REALLY fast from enormous orbiting cylinders the size of Jupiter, which has the CO2 under a pressure of 1,000,000 psi, and point it directly at our atmosphere, it will result in a very quick global cooling.
I think Johnny B's parents are related by more than marriage iykwim.
