They are threatening to sue us. I don't know where they get this figure. First they wanted 50k but we don't have that kind of money. We never even used the program-it didn't work. Does anyone know about this?

You can sue them with the help of your lawyer, if your statement is correct. But I doubt company who sells autodesk is a scam.

Get a lawyer. If you installed it, it doesn't matter whether it was used or not or whether it worked or not. If you didn't know it was bootleg, the circumstances under which you did obtain the program will be crucial to your case. Hope you saved your receipt, or can at least account for legal ownership of the software. Good luck.

Reason #45,989 to use only Open Source software. http://sourceforge.net has over 118,976 free programs and applications.

The proprietary software houses all banded together, to create the Business Software Alliance (BSA). That is a "gang" of lawyers who are trying to collect aobut $150,000 per license violation for "pirated software"!

The recently attacked Indiana School system, in a repeat of the raid upon Oregon Schools, of pre-finals week 2004! Both have switched to Linux on tens of thousands of school computers.

Funny, Microsoft Corporation has over 360 court convictions for "theft" aka, piracy!

Read the story of Ernie Ball Guitar, Inc. who went through the same crap.

Why some of us will NEVER buy or use the vaporware of the bloated "Microsoft Channel" partners! Buying, and 'Clicking through' their EULAs, is an invitation to corporate raids on our shareholders!

http://news.com.com/2008-1082_3-5065859.html (search in Google for "Rockin' on without Microsoft").

Yes there IS LinuxCAD! http://www.linuxcad.com/

It runs on the 800+ FREE Operating Systems, that do NOT crash, do NOT have the 150,000 Microsoft Virus Definitions! I like http://pclinuxos.com http://ubuntu.org http://kubuntu.com

Sounds like a scam.

The best thing to do is speak to a lawyer.
