ladylaw_912 is right, Ginko Biloba does help to to improve memory loss. Also I have found that meditating for about 15 min. a day helped me greatly. A lot of people do not understand meditation and there for are afraid of it. It is simply the art of learning to clear your mind and relax the body. To me it seems to almost defragment your mind as like a computer. I can remember things better, sleep better and feel more relaxed as well as the day seems that it goes much smoother.
I'f you would like me to teach you how I can e-mail you.

Believe it or not, there are medications out there that stimulate the long term memory. Now, their still in their test phases so dont think it's a miracle. My best idea is to take one thing small and insignificant...Say the color of your shoe laces and TRY to remember it throughout the day. There used to be this awesome program I saw on TV that was selling a Memory enhancer. This one guy could memorize like 12 phone numbers that were randomly made up by the audience! Check into it =)

You could write down the long words you want to remember and make a crossword of them, also I have my own 'self dictionary' that I use when I am studying. It is an empty book that I fill with words that are important - it makes for easy reference. Also I don't write out a shopping list - this FORCES me to remember a long list of things and it is surprising what you remember when you really need to. I ask myself allowed questions to do with what I am studying eg " talk about everything I know on the human immune system..." this forces me to dig deep and exercise my memory.
Studies show that those who are active in 'learning about learning' do better with their studies, eg what you are asking now is on the road to making you have a superb memory.

Are you under a lot of stress? Stress can play havoc on memory. Also, in terms of diet, Oprah says blueberries improve memory; they are one of the megafoods.

If you excercise your memory like you might your muscles or you mind, by memorizing passages in books or magazines or doing other memory stimulating things, than your memory can get better.
