Most of the time I misinterpret him and tend to manipulate his teachings so as to justify my shortcomings. However, my intention is to honor him. I hope that your dictionary will allow me to distinguish between worshipping him and idolizing him. The latter I don't intentionally do. The former, yes; I open a window into my daily schedule to worship him.

In your researches, you found that 'idolize' has more than one meaning. In the christian bible, worshiping an 'idol' is wrong, so you could try to trap a christian with that. But idolize also means:
1. To regard with blind admiration or devotion. See Synonyms at revere.
So it may be 'devotion' and not 'blind admiration', or even 'revere' as a synonym, people mean when they say they idolize. So bw careful not to read too much into a word.

It depends on what standpoint you take it from. If you look at how a Christian deals with Christ in their relationship from a non christian standpoint then it really is idolize. However as a Christian I would say that my relationship is closer to honoring, although I think that there are better words than honor for that relationship.

i do both idolize and honor Jesus as a christian.. it's not easy to walk with Him unless you gave your life to Him and you ask for His help, guidance and instructions in your life.. and He's faithful that when you ask Him of anything He will answer you.. it's a matter of faith.. and it's a personal relationship with Him that you'll hear His voice talking to you whenever you call out to Him..=)

Jesus is my Savior, my Priest and Mediator between me and God, and he is my King.
However, I worship the same Father and God he does.
Joh 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

An idol is a false god. How can you make a false god out of a REAL God?
