I answered this question last week.
People and dogs snore because they aren't getting enough air when they breathe. There is a flap of skin that hangs down in the back of the throat. By being overweight, or even from age, the skin starts to sag more, partially covering the throat opening. On short faced dogs such as pugs, they try to breathe through their noses, and the airway isn't as open as on a longer nosed dog.
Just like a human snoring, you can nudge the dog to get it to change position, but it won't last. There is surgery that the vet can preform if the dog has problems breathing.
If the dog is breathing alright when it sleeps, try turning the radio on to help cover the sound of the snores. Otherwise, a vet can help your dog through surgery.

So many pricks and no wedding.

Your dog snores because of the position of it's head when it sleeps. The best thing to do is wake it up, so it will move position. Or like humans it may have polyps causing the snoring, so a visit to the vet might be in order.

Make sure it stops drinking alcohol two hours before bedtime.. . . don't let it sleep on it's back? Maybe you'd just better get yr dog used to sleeping in a separate room.
