He still holds a candle for you. His apparent friendliness is his way of remaining close to you but he is jealous of you with other guys. He has not let you go completely in his own mind and you will need to be firm with him to get him to take it on board. Do not expect impartial advice from him either as it will always be geared to how it best suits him and his views about you. Try it out and you will see what I mean.
Good Luck

He doesn't want ya but doesn't want anyone else to have you either..
Plus guys hate to think that you'll meet someone more verile than them.. if he loved you he would be with you and treating you like the Goddess you are.
Quit contact with him until you are truly over him - and no friendly quickies - have some diginity. That way he gets his jollies but does not have to be faithful/commited to ya - both know you worth way more than that.
Best of luck anyways but next time he asks (if ya don't do the smart thing and quit contact for a bit) tell him you certainly do have a date and are soooooo looking forward to it.
You seem smart - you will meet someone better.

He wants to know you are there for him and only him butis afraid of committment....a lot of men are.....he is keeping his options open ifhe finds someone he deems better......in his little mindthen thats ok but if you meet someone better....and there are a lot better out there he starts to call the shots or at least tries to. Better off without this sort of insult ...you are worth a hellof a lot more. Cease contact and let him know the reason why.

Men are like animals although we don't really want a women anymore it takes a while for the smell to wear off. A bit like peeing to mark territory he didn't pee on you did he because it could take a while for it to wear off.

He doesn't want a relationship with you, but he wants to know you're available for sex when he hasn't got anyone else to go to. If you can live with that - good luck to you - I couldn't.

Basically he wants you for sex but wants to do what he wants with other women whilst you pine away waiting for him. Get rid of him...there's reasons he's your ex....remember?

Because he's not the friend you think he is. He's a jerk pretending to be your friend.
