Itching isn't just caused by fleas, it can be caused by thyroid issues, skin infections, fungus, dry skin, mites, allergies to enviornment or foods, etc.Causes can be varied. If you are feeding a low quality food that contains wheat, corn, soy or beet pulp try changing to a better quality food that doesn't have any of these ingredients. Try putting some fish oil or Olive oil in the food..if it is a food allergy or simply dry skin this will help if not then you will need to go to the vet and find the cause. Itching can become intense and a simple problem can become a more serious problem and costlier to treat.

fleas may not be the problem. The allergy season is very bad. My 2 are chewing their paws. Vet said "allergies". You can give a dog a Benadryl to relieve itching. Use the childs dosage.

It could be a reaction to the frontline - try changing the flea control or even try changing the way you administer it, as you can get frontline in many different forms! Hope this helps.

See if their skin is red and rashy. Some dogs actually are allergic to the Frontline stuff. If so they will need to see a vet to get lotion.
