Some dogs don't like to be outside by themself. You do need to try and work with him to go outside. If he will only go out when someone is with him then you need to spend time with him outside showing him he is safe outside. Did you get him as a puppy or adopt him when he was a few yrs old? He my have had a bad experience beening outside when younger or beening left there for really long periods of time. But as long as you are making sure your dog get a good 45min walk a day he should be fine staying inside, but I would still work on getting him to enjoy the out doors. Sorry if I wasn't much help, but I wish you the best of luck!

Not bad at all, I have an adopted boxer that is also nervous to be outside especially in dark or storms. I say keep them where they feel more safe and secure. take them out for walks and potty and if your going to be outside with them.

See if there are any other dogs near by she can have playdates with. She could just be a homebody.
We had a dog that had to out all the time, another dog hated outside.

Boxers are very social and need a lot of human contact. I have 2 and they both want to be with people all the time.

No. The BEST place for any dog is in the house.

Dogs respond best and behave best if socialized in a family setting. They get into less trouble, bark less, dig less, runaway less often, don't have as many health problems, and are less likely to get in dog fights or to be killed by obnoxious neighbors.

Besides, I bet she likes the air conditioning as much as you do.

Nothing wrong with that, dogs should be inside with their people. As long as she goes out to potty and gets play time outside as well as training, she'll be just fine.

Does she do anything bad when she is in the house (chew things, urinate, etc)? If not, I don't see a problem with her being inside. She needs regular exercise, though.
