Every kid is different. Some kids get it quicker than others. Just let the child start doing it themselves and then double check the work and when you see that time and time again that they have done a good job then you know you don't have to check up and they are able to do it all themselves

First-like everything else each child is different. The "age" would be determined by when the child learned to go to the potty alone, and has mastered that skill first. I would recommend no matter what the age-if he/she is potty trained introduce wiping-and stress the importance each time (just like washing hands and flushing). even though a child can go to the bathroom does not mean he/she is cleaning right. If a child of three can go potty alone-stand by and make sure that wiping is done correctly. With smaller arms and so forth its hard to do it right. Good luck!

It won't be a certain age...it will be at a certain stage of development. Some do a good job at 2, and some almost never seem to do a good job! Many kids all through pre-school need help still, but keeping in mind that they will not get assistance in kindergarten, the weeks before school starts are the key weeks to be SURE that they are at least wiping...even if you have to wipe them again afterwards. For kindergartners, some parents like to send a spare pair of underwear in their child's backpack just in case.

My 4 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous has the comparable situation! She wont let us know, she basically does not wipe and is going on. it is so gross. I regularly save on along with her in there and be certain she wipes, yet at pre-college they do no longer verify to be certain she is wiping so it somewhat is disgusting. i will't convince her to do it the two. Now my 3 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous does all of it devoid of help in any respect. So i do no longer understand what the deal is.

I agree with around 3 or 4. My son is 3 and he is pretty good about it all, but he has also been potty-trained for over a year. I wouldn't expect a 3-year-old fresh out of diapers to be able to do it.
