My pit bull is 2.5 months old, people say that if you introduce any other pet when a dog is young, then it will get use to being around them. I don't know if it's the same in every case?

A couple of things:
1. Dogs and reptiles are not meant to play together.
2. Puppies are aggressive with any new thing they can chase.
3. Pit bulls have strong jaws that can break an iguana in about a nanosecond.

Reptiles smell funny to dogs. They can get used to cats or other dogs and sometimes even bunnies, but the chances of your pit bull and your iguana coexisting happily are not very good. Best bet is to keep them apart.

I think when you say the puppy was being aggressive, you mean that it was trying to play with the iguana.

Puppies play predator-prey games. Unfortunately, your iguana is not going to understand the dog language for "let's romp". It will misinterpret this as "I'm going to eat you" and this will be disconcerting to say the least.

You can teach the iguana and the puppy to play nicely together, but that would be dangerous to the iguana, at least at first. I don't really see the benefit to that much risk and effort.

The easier option would be to teach the dog to ignore the iguana. That will involve training the "leave it" command thoroughly, by beginning with safe non-breathing toys. In the meantime, I would not encourage their interaction.

Yesw it is, you have to keep working on it. Get your iguana out everyday and make sure your pitbull puppy see him out. As time goes on he should become use to him and not bother with the iguana or be aggressive toward him. You also know what people have to say about pits. I have one myself that is 3 yrs old now and I love him to death, if I could I would have ten of them they just have such a bad rep. But you still have to look for signs of aggression toward other things and people if you puppy is showing it toward your iguana. Not saying your not raising him right but it could be ib his blood line and it just be apart of his future, but you can work on it. I love these dogs and mine had his own issues too but he was abusied as a puppy but we have over come that except going to the vets, we still don't like. But just keep working on it everyday the more you do the better chance the dog will come around. It takes time just as it would with a kid. I hope I've been able to help and I hope you have a great day!

If you keep introducing the reptile and the dog, they just might get along. Just try doing it every once in a while. If that doesn't work after a while, well then they just might never get along. But, don't give up, keep trying. And never leave the reptile alone with your dog. Hope I helped.
