And yes, the pup is adorable. And yes, he is much-loved by all in the household. But ew, again, to the "Mommy".

It's sickening & CREEPY.
Have you heard "fur-baby"??? PUKE!
They're DOGS,not humans & I can tell the difference.
The worst part is that it's REALLY bad for the animals!

Your roommate does not have a problem. Referring to oneself as "Mommy," "Daddy," etc., is one way to show love to a pet. Baby talking is another way to show your love to pets. Pets respond well to the tone of voice used, making it easier to train, and increases the feeling of security felt by the pet.
I fail to understand why you think it "bleh." Maybe you need to begin referring to yourself as the dog's "aunt," so that you share in the close bond that good pet owners have with their pets.

As long as she doesn't breast feed the dog, don't sweat it. I'm sure you have more important things to worry about than what your roommate calls herself when talking to her pet.

I think it makes her a caring person for pets. Either that or she really LOVES that dog.

sorry but i do that too and its not annoying it just means tht they love the dog as a kid like they depend on you, and they love you just like a kid!!! now give me 10 points!! lol
