I don't really like the taste of alcohol, but would like to be able to go out for a drink with my husband, and maybe even catch a little buzz... :-)

What's a good drink that doesn't really taste like alcohol?

Hmm, good drink that doesn't taste like alcohol. Well, I don't normally mix anything, but I like the taste of striaght whisky, vodka, whatever so I don't have much advice for you but white russians are good and don't taste like alcohol. Also Flaming Dr. Peppers are good.

White Russian

Ingredients

* 1 jigger Vodka (or a shot if you don't know what a jigger is)
* 1 oz Kahlua (I would use more, this was from a website as I don't mesure when I make them)
* 1 oz Cream or milk (I've never had it with cream, but with milk it is good)

A lot of people fill the cup with ice first, but whatever floats your boat.

Flaming Dr. Pepper (You might not like this one, as it is one that you light on fire and has a 151 proof shot in it, but since you don't take the shot and it is lit, a lot of the alcohol burns away and it doesn't taste like alcohol, it tastes like Dr. Pepper)

Ingredients

3/4 shot amaretto almond liqueur
1/4 oz 151 proof rum
1/2 glass beer

Directions

1. Fill a shot glass about 3/4 full with amaretto and top it off with enough 151 proof rum to be able to burn.

2. Place the shot glass in another glass and fill the outer glass with beer (right up to the level of the shot glass).

3. Ignite the amaretto/151 and let it burn for a while. Blow it out (or leave it burning if you're brave - not recommended) and slam it. Tastes just like Dr. Pepper.

I've also seen them with just a shot of the 151 instead of mixing it with the amaretto.

It isn't nearly the same if you don't chug it, it loses at least some of the Dr. Pepper taste.

Well a Long Island Iced Tea doesn't taste like alcohol... it's just very sweet but, if you don't drink alot, you're gonna get a hell of a lot more than a lil buzz.. there's a ton of alcohol in them. If you like the frozen drinks, with any of them, you can never taste the alcohol in them.. If you like iced tea, you can get an Ice Pick.. that's iced tea with vodka and a little lemon juice..

Frozen daiquiris, frozen margaritas, really any slushy frozen drink will hide that hard alcohol taste. Some bartenders know how to mix up a nice fruity drink that you'll never think has alcohol in it. Just ask.

Ask a bartender in a bar. If they're not overly busy, they can be helpful. I like a "Purple Rain." I don't know what is in it, but it tastes like Kool-Aid. Also, there are lots of bottled drinks that don't taste like alcohol, like Parrot Bay or the fruit flavored Smirnoff.

Try a Singapore Sling. It is really fruity and you don't taste the alcohol. I think you'll like it.
