I would like it to be pretty cheap, but not terrible quality! It doesn't have to be spectacular either. So my question is to you, where can I get a good, cheap video camera and what kind is it?

There are several good models to choose from. I would personally try to get a MiniDV or DVD recording camera, as these can be loaded onto a computer easily.

Sony makes very good, cheap video cameras. I have a DCR-TRV260 and it gives good picture quality at a reasonable price. Cost about $250, new. Likely, any of the DCR-TRV series (Handycam) will give you the same quality at a reasonable price.

Note that when I bought this camcorder, it was the only one tested by consumer reports that gave decent picture quality for under $1000, which is why I bought it. That was maybe 3 years ago. What I am saying here is be very careful buying a camcorder for uner $1000. Most of them are terrible. Even a few over $1000 were not as good as my Handycam.

look at a digital camera with mpeg video capability then, depending on what mem card you have depends on how long it can be, i got a 512mb card and it gets 12 minutes of video and it is good quality, camera cost me $400 a few years ago and now i have seen the same cam for $150 at best buy, sony cybershot, its a 4megapixel camera

Go to best buy, they have some pretty good deals. Otherwise check this web site out and you can get some good reviews and a price check.

My step-daughter has one of these and loves it, not a bad little unit! :) (I think she has model R-PKDV57 or "IS-DV")
