call the police - last time I received a noise ordinance it was $250.00 - nothing hurts like a punch to the wallet - I would not suggest the broken glass , if it rips their tire they could get killed or kill osmeone else on the road

No such thing as neibors. You mean neighbors.
"Tell me you need money for minds that hate all I can tell you is buddy you have to wait."
Try knocking on the door and saying please lower the bass volume. You see Bass frequency's are larger than the room. So they are not audible at close range. Ask them to stand outside and you play the bass. Then they can see why you are complaining. Those cars with the loud bass are playing the bass to hear it but they can't because the sound wave is in somebodies living room or car. The lower the note the larger the sound wave.It takes more amplitude to drive the note. When it is driven it drives past the listener right on down to the tiny parish of St Alphonso's. Where they really don't want to hear it. So show them. Then if they don't care call the police.

Put up sound proofing on the walls. If you are renting complain to the landlords. If they are making noise to the level it is illegal complain to the police it is not legal I have done it. Blankets and quilts on the walls help muffle sound. Move your bed to another wall or room. Get ear plugs I live in a house not well designed for noise near a soft ball complex and highschool. The down stairs is quieter than the upstairs. Do not drink lots of caffiene during the day. Avoid the news before going to sleep. Eat a good diet get plenty of exercise. Read a good relaxing book the Bible where they talk about so and so begets so and so bores me to sleep along with any college textbook. Get one of those sound machines I use to listen to the ocean on my clock until I knocked it off the stand too many times hitting the snooze button it helped drown out other sounds outside my garage apartment when I was working on my BA.

Simply return the favor except play opera, new age or country. Whichever you think would irritate them the most. My husband did that one time. We were living across the street from a family that played ethnic music really loud. We got tired of it so my husband blasted some Ozzy and Wasp. It never happened again.

My neighbors kids pissed me off.
One night someone purchased a box of light blue clothing dye and threw it in their pool.
The obnoxious little brats looked like smurfs for a month.
Light blue is not seen in the water because it is the color of the liner.
I have also sat outside someones house with a remote control that worked their TV.
Change the channels and turn down the volume.
If they turn it off turn it on again.
Find a universal remote that will work the stereo.

show some self confidence and respect. knock on their door, introduce yourself and tell them that the walls are thin and you can hear their music at night. tell them that you have to sleep between the hours of ___ and ___ because you have to work from ___ to ___, and could they please turn the music off or down after whatever time.
take a box of doughnuts or something when you go.
show some interest in them. you might even make a freind.
after that, if it continues, call the police and make a noise complaint, telling them about your visit, when it was exactly, and what was said.

How about asking them nicely not to play their music so loud?
If they don't comply, check with the police concerning local ordinances for noise. If they play too loud after a certain time at night, call the police.
If these fail, I like Javy's suggestion of playing Yoko Ono.

I had this trouble with my neighbour.
I simply told him that I like his music but all I hear is the base - a bit like the car behind you at the lights.
So, don't turn the volume down - just the base please.
That did the trick and no one got upset.

Figure out when they go to sleep (you should know by the lack of noise). Then, take stereo speakers and face them against the wall...crank it up and go out for a few hours (or the whole night)...
