If you want to grind your own beans, I suggest getting a burr grinder. They give a more consistent grand than a blade grinder.

If you are just going to be using a blade grinder you should grind them for 20 to 30 secs but in 2 to 3 second intervals so you don't heat up the beans too much.

Sure , fine grind is typical for espresso..
Your owners manual should provide some guidance..

Depends on the machine. If its the old fashined "machineta" silver stove top machine then you dont grind it as fine. If its a pump machine or something similar to a coffee shop machine then you want it very fine.

As a prior poster (j3m2g1) pronounced, putting coffee interior the refrigerator will inhibit the organic oils of the beans. that's superb to maintain them in an air-tight field in a funky, dry, dark place... removed from warmth and easy. in view that coffee is porous, that's no longer a solid theory to keep the beans interior the refrigerator because of the fact the beans can soak up different flavors from the refrigerator. you may desire to never keep coffee interior the refrigerator. Freeze coffee merely as quickly as.

It depends on your grinder and your machine. I prefer mine to be like powder.
