First of all you need to know what type of long-distance phone service your mother has...Some phone services like the one I have is unlimited long distance.
Secondly, the voice mail can be heard by dialing the voice mail line and putting in the code. Again it all depends on the type of voice mail service your mother has.
Last but not least. The viewing of the phone numbers depend on the phone carrier. I live in Ohio and I have had 2 different phone carriers. The first one was Cincinnati Bell and they listed all long distance phone calls rec'd and dialed out on your monthly bill; this carrier also had so many minutes free per month for long distance and 10 cent a minute after you used those minutes. That's been about a 1year ago. Now I have my phone carrier with my local cable company were they don't show the long distance phone calls and I have unlimited long distance.
If you are trying to hide this from your mother you need to become detective and learn about the phone service she has.

This must be some relationship you have going on for you to go through this hassle

I wish you the best of luck with this, It shouldn't be too hard.

If you have a calling package that allows you to call anywhere in the United States then it should not show, but if long distance services are not in your calling plan then unfortunately it is gonna show on the phone bill, but it shouldn't show cause if you don't have the calling plan then the phone company is going to restrict the call. So it means then that your mother's home phone plan includes calls made anywhere in the US.

The bill won't increase and no numbers will be seen. At least verizon home services doesn't do that, I dunno about other phone companies. I don't think you need to be worrying about that now.

To listen to the voice messages you have to get the voicemail number, for verizon its 473-8888 in NEW YORK and then you need to enter the password (you need to get the password); if you don't have the password then you are out of luck.
