Any music can turn people on and stimulate. Listen to tribal drums and chants and then ask yourself that question. Don't blame everything on Rock and rap music. Music is probably the most spiritual one can get, no matter what kind of music it is. I can get just as emotional while listening to flute music, or tribal drums, or Rob Zombie, or Beethoven, or Steve Vai.
What causes people to rebel is over zealous authority. As for degrading, what is degrading to some is just a way of life to another. One might suggest that the way you live is degrading.

all types of music can do that, don't blame everything on rap and rock, i personally love both genres.

ha ha ha!! Yes, music is the cause of all the trouble in the world. I think we should burn all records, CD's, tapes, and the like. As well as all books, except the bible.
