I think this is a really good question. Can you die of boredom??? directlly no, but indirectly there is a very good possibility. For example, if you have a job that is stressful or you have personnel that are constantly putting you down for whatever reason and you hate to even get up to go to work. All this can lead to things like weight loss, headaches, and other kinds of disfunctions of the bodies regulatory system. Sometimes just the repetitious kind of work that has you in front of one machine for 8 to 10 hours and always doing the same thing can get very tedious and boring. There are some people that can do this and never give it a second thought, like the man who put the left front wheel on cars at the plant for 40 yrs!!! Can you imagine him telling people what he did for a living? If you are bored with your job, please get another job that you can be happy with. You will not only feel more like living again, but you will in fact improve your health.

If it were possible to die from boredom, I doubt too many people would be able to graduate from school. The boredom alone, no. What could kill someone suffering from boredom might be some of the dangerous methods sought after to relieve the boredom.

being totally disinterested in what you are doing is not a good way to live. ( but , you will not die of it )
We all need to work for a living, but you must scout around,
for something that will take your whole interest
and still bring, in the money to live on .
You may need to study and spend time till you achieve qualifications in what YOU want to do .
. We all have different talents to use ;
do what you are best at, as soon as you can
Then boredom will not t be an issue ,
Stick with the job you are at now
,but plan towards getting something,
that you will be happy doing (and still get paid)
Good luck

You can seriously go crazy from boredom and loneliness. Like the guy on Castaway, by the end, he's a bit cracked. Remember Wilson?

Good mental health to everyone. :<)
Boredom is nature's way of telling you that you are already beginning to die on a spiritual level. So stop it at the onset and do something different!
Remember the words in one of John Mellencamp's songs, "Life goes on long after the thrill of living is gone."
Don't fall victim to that kind of negative thinking.
Life is short, make each moment count!
Seize the day and squeeze all the pleasure you can out of it.

boredom can lead to depression, and depression can lead to suicide...so in a way, yes. but directly? no.
if you have nothing to stimulate your mind, such as friends, a career you enjoy, leisure time etc. etc, you may begin to feel depressed. suicide can sometimes be a result of being severely depressed.
