I saw Sergio Mora fight on the contender, and obviously I couldn't really tell how good he was. I saw some of his fight last night, and to me I felt he should have stopped that tall lengthy fighter. He was talking about fighting Jermaine Taylor, and to me that seems like an awfully big step up. Could Mora even compete with a strong and solid fighter like Taylor??

I agree with Ric, TV made these guys look good, the "Tube" can make a very ordinary fighter look like a Contender and that's what they did, all of it was hype. In the real boxing world Sergio, Alphonso and the rest of them are level three or four fighters at best. I'm glad that these guys are making some money capitalizing on their new found fame but by no means should they be considered legitimate Contenders. Sergio doesn't belong in the ring with a top ten guy let alone the Champion of the World. I really don't think that he could handle anyone in the top ten, he would be beaten and shown that he doesn't belong in there with the big boys yet and maybe he never will. When your promotion team is picking these bums for you to beat and you're having a hard time beating them, then I have to stand back a do a reality check. It was great that you thought Sergio should have stopped him guess what? So did Sergio and his promotional team. When there's no script to follow lots of strange things can happen. Thanks for the great question.

From what I hear Taylor beat him in the amatures so they are familiar with each other but Taylor is a lot more seasoned having fought two of the best in Bernard Hopkins and Winky Wright whom most boxers tried to avoid most of their career. Sergio is a DECENT fighter but needs to keep stepping up in fights. I think a better challenger for Taylar would be Kelly Pavlic an undefeated fighter out of Youngstown Ohio who is 28-0 and has just knocked out Bronco McCart who previously had never been knocked out. Perhaps Sergio and Pavlic should fight and the winner gets a title shot at Abrams or Taylor.

He's not that good and he'll probably get knocked out if he steps up to fight Jermain taylor or any of the other good Midleweights like Miranda, Abraham, Wright etc.

Mora is a mediocre fighter who will at best be a fringe contender for most of his career.

That guy won a "reality" show with 11 other losers. So what? Taylor is good, but not great. But you do not need to be great to kick that tomato can
