It's not really like that. There's nothing negative about God or Jesus at all. There's nothing but love and freedom. He wants you to choose Him, to say "I don't know if there's a God, but if there is, I want to know you!" From God's perspective, It's kind of like...loving someone so much, beyond comprehension, because you know them and see them and just wish they would come to you, but they don't love you. In fact, they aren't even interested in giving you the time of day. How sucky is that? It's not about saying you believe in Jesus to avoid hell, it's about a loving life long relationship with the one who created you that continues beyond death.

You won't believe fire is hot or ice is cold until you touch it. People can explain how they have "experienced" the cool of ice or the heat of fire, but you can never know FOR SURE unless you touch it yourself. It's the same with God.
