My cousins kid has poison shumack by just beig around (not touching) can my daughter get it????

as long as the blisters aren't open and no one touches her, she will be fine. Poison sumac is not an air-borne pathogen

Make sure the kid has washed very well and changed clothes and washed the sumac -ed ones. I had my kids shower with dish detergent to get off the oil that causes the rash. Lye soap is another remedy that would help. Caladryl lotion for the itchies and a Benadryl at night help too. good luck

it is not contageous. to get surface irritants the person must rub against the plant to get the rash. make sure he keeps his hands to himself because some people breed staph infection along with skin irritations because they dig the itch with dirty nails.

just ask him to wash his hands and make sure he doesn't touch anyone please thank you. But No he can't spread the sumac.

Nasty stuff. My husband is recovering from it and I have never seen such a nasty rash. even bled. But then he dug it raw. MEN!
