Cute little twist of the clothes has no Emperor. I knew what you were getting at and that it was not a mistake. I used a similar term in reference to atheistic evolutionists in stating that evolution had been found to have no clothes. Surely someone as Witty as you understands what I am saying. :o)

Around 13, after a couple years bout with Fundamentalism via TV shows like Jimmy Swaggart and studying the Bible looking for clues to the final mention of the Ark Of The Covenant, I finally discovered masturbation, and I never looked back.
Also due to my interest in mythology, my first "reason" was that if people really believed all those other gods, and they were all false, then there's no reason to assume these gods that people still believe are any more real.

To answer your question. I came to the conclusion that I'd rather trust science over religion any day. Religion isn't about truth. It's about easy answers.

The problem with religious people is that most of them are hypocrites who claim to be religious and they're not.

Worked the other way for me.
I began to realize that atheism is based on faith (just as any other world-view is)...
... gradually Atheism lost intellectual credibility in my eyes... and I ultimately became a Theist (a Christian Theist).
