On my vet's advice, I feed my 3 cats Purina Indoor formula. As for teaching your cat to get dogs, I hope that you choose a large cat & a small dog.

Seriously, my brother who had a cat once rented the front of a house from a friend who had a German shepherd, The only barrier was a door that they tended to leave open. The cat often rode around the house on the dog's back.
It was really funny.

They need canned and dry. I feed ours, morning and supper with quality canned food, then dry in betwen, and a couple bowls of some quality dry. You should not get a cat, you are getting it for the wrong reason and you know nothing about cats. I am not trying to offend you at all. But seriously, cats are a whole different ball game than dogs. Why would your dog get mad and bite you? Are you abusing it? If you treat your dog right, it will be the best friend you will ever have and never bite you.

Dry food is good until your cat developes a weight problem and they will. Feeding your cat dry food is like you eating Fritos for Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

A cat will eat canned food when he/she gets hungry. A cat will not usually over eat canned(wet) food. But if you are in the habit of leaving a bowl of dry food out all the time, you will have a fat cat.

Most cat and dog owners that leave dry food out all the time are really avoiding their pets. Fill their bowls when they are empty and you're finished.

I feed my cats Fancy Feast. I have three adult cats and I usually divide a can between them. I then wait a few minutes, then divid a second can(same flavor or different one). If they act hungry after that I wait and give them a third. Usually they are satisfied with two cans(these are small cans). My cats are average size and now that I have adopted this method of feeding their weight is aroud 10 - 11 pounds.

My Vet said that a if a cat is going to get tartar on their teeth the cat would get it eating dry or wet food.

The best food for your cat would be dry as it keeps the coat nice and shiny, but feed him a bit of chicken etc by hand. And I dont think its a good idea to set a cat against a dog, they are natural enemys and I think they would hurt each other terribly. And just think, Why does your dog get mad at you? Mine dosent.....I love him. he's a member of the family and if yours isnt you shouldnt have a 'pet' of any description.

You must mix the dry food with any other soft food . I mix my cats food with half a tin of that cheap tuna and I mix it well.
The combination is ideal. The cats will benefit from both, the dry for their teeth and the soft for easier digestion.
You can also mix the dry food with fresh half cooked liver,+ its sauce but cut into very small pieces to help them eating without making a miss.

Dry food is the healthiest. Canned food is total crap, and can even kill your pet. I've lost several cats over the years from tainted canned food. They put ground up road-kill, youthanised animals from the pound, and rotten, diseased garbage in there. Cats can get CJD-like diseases from consuming the spinal and brain tissues of the other animals which shouldn't be in their feed anyway. Also, never use sea-food based pet food. It is loaded with heavy metals, and other pernicious toxins. I never want to lose another pet that way, it is horrible. Dry food is generally higher quality feed for your pet, is much better for their teeth (better breath, too), and is cheaper. It doesn't need to be fancy.

BAD IDEA - hope you're kidding!

We use Science Diet, Eukanuba and Royal Canin, dry. For kittens, if it's a kitten of course.

We supplement with canned - Science Diet if I can get them to eat it, otherwise Friskies (it's just a "treat" at night)
