Women are programmed from birth what society determines to be correct behaviors. In most developed countries girls are programmed to like dolls, the color pink, fashion, and things that will later make them acceptable wives(i.e. cooking, cleaning etc...). So i dare you to rage against the machine and tell your daughters to love sports and the color blue. Teach her to build her own car and appreciate a good cigar and a fine brandy!! Girls Rule!!

Not all girls like pink. My oldest daughter has always loved orange, and my other daughter loves silver.
Most girls are dressed in pink, because mothers have found that it alleviates the repeated question of "is it a boy or a girl?" -
however, you can dress a girl all in pink, and a boy all in blue...and people will still ask that question.

Both, would be the correct answer. In our cultural we condition our girls to prefer pink and purple, but there's also a deeper influence as well. Researchers have discovered that men and women naturally prefer different colors and have so for thousands of years. Men generally prefer blue and women gravitate towards the pinker end of the blue spectrum, although many women like blue, too. Some scientists believe it has something to do with evolution. Women have a very clear pattern. It’s low in the yellow and green regions and rises to a peak in the purplish to reddish region.

In my opinion, this conception comes from nature. Look around, the pink flowers are less glared , it also means quiet, peace, it is suitable for girls' feeling and characters. So if boys like pink, I can imagine their behavior would be women-liked.
