Front wide stretch lace looking hair bands can help with fly aways near the face. Hair gels and hair sprays can help I use a conditioning hair gel that I get at a Beauty Supply store (Sally's locally there are many others but they are well known in this region of the South and nearby). What is allowed by your work is what starts out. You can get these stretch type cap things cannot remember their name that will go over just the bun to hold it in one place. If you do not want to cut your hair my suggestion is that you do like I did when I had longer hair and needed it out of the way for work, look around at hair books for ideas, buy a great many beautiful clips that help make the hair look better when pulled back. Cut a bang and do something with it like curl it when you pull back the rest of your hair. You can also in some places get some beautiful scarfs, hair nets, and bands to wear on your hair. Also look around you at the women you see around you as to how they resolve their hair issues and ask them for advice or where they bought the hair accessories. Eventually I just got a very good blunt cut that curled under at the straight edge right above my shoulders that was easy to take care of and looked very good because my hair is very straight as it was easier to deal with while attending college also.

You could try a French twist, or make a braid or two and twist tem together as a bun. You could also try a bug French braid down your back, or a neat bun with pins and the such. Have fun!

~wear it in a low ponytail
OR
~part your hair to the side and leave strands behind your ears, then put it up in a messy bun
OR
~Twist it up and secure with a clip
I know you said not to mention the first two but they eally look cute..

I always put my hair in a high bun thats fluffed out by putting your thumbs in the inside and your index fingers on the outside and pulling up and out, but not so much that it completely falls out! its super cute too!

French twist with a pretty clip or barrette and tease the top section for some drama. (Phoebe wore her hair like this on friends a couple of times)

I have long hair and when I want it back I pull it into a low pony with my hands, (don't put in a rubber band) and twist while pulling up. Secure with a large clip, and it's ready for work!
