It is probably from build up in your hair. Often times shampoos, conditioners, hairspray, gels, mousse and so on will live build up in our hair when we wash. I recommend giving yourself a deep clean once a week. One of the products that I use is Paul Mitchells Tea Tree shampoo. It is a bit pricey but it lasts for a very long time. You use it only once or twice a week and you don't need to use a whole lot of it. Look for other products that may contain tea tree or even deep cleaning shampoos. Aussie has an excellent conditioner that helps clean build up from your hair.

One tip that helps too is if you use conditioner, rinse it out with cool water. Because hot water opens up the pores and it the conditioner settles in and causes a waxy build up.

I hope that helps
