Requirements are state mandatory. Public and private schools MUST offer certain requirements. What they each require over and above state regulations is up to the school.
Where I live a graduate must have completed 4 credits of english, 3 credits of math, 3 of science, 2 of social studies, 2 of foriegn language, 1 of phys ed, and a couple of electives.

Every state sets its own standards. These criteria must be met for graduation from all schools: public and private. Individual schools may have additional requirements, but they won't be much over the state's minimum requirements.

every state is different with their requirements pertaining to public and private education.
Go to the California state education department website and you will find all the info you need.
I'm in Texas and our laws are different. Since i homeschool I'm considered a private school and can set my own graduation requirements. But I do follow the advanced diploma program set by the TEA, by preference, not by requirement.

Each private school as I remember has standards of credits to adhere to. They may require you to take more of their own specialty classes for graduation depending on institution.

Check on the school's website. Obviously students are going to have to do probably 4 years of English, 4 years of social studies, at least 3 years of science, at least 3 years of math, and at least 3 years of a foreign language.
