I'm dogsitting a terrier, tomatoes make him sick and he got into some leftover spaghetti with sauce. Now he is puking and has diarreah. I dont have $$ to take him to vet. I just want to know if it is going to go away on its own or if I can give him something that will help him get through his sickness.

Make sure he has plenty of fluids and let it work its course...if he gets worse then you may have to take him to a vet. Does he have one he sees on a regular basis?

you can give him a childs dose of pepto bismol which may help soothe his stomach a little. Make sure he get plenty of water so he does not dehydrate. If the vomiting and/or diarrhea continues you should get thim to the vet. Did'nt the owners make arrangement for a vet in an emergency? Do you know who his vet is? Try to get in touch with the owners if you need to take him to the vet...they may be able to leave a credit card # with the vet to cover costs..otherwise tell the vet your situation and they can perhaps bill the owners when they get home.

tomatoes have acid. they bother my stomach also. so does tomato soup. stop the table food. feed the terrier dogfood ... it was made with dogs in mind. i would keep the vet in mind also.
