It is nice to see the positive responses. I think that it makes a better world. However, I do think that it is harder in the long run to have an interracial relationship. Especially white and black, or latino and black. It is always easier to date someone who is similar.

Interracial dating is a bad idea for white people but no problem at all for blacks and hispanics (with whites, not eachother). The problem here is racism. Whites are anti-racist while blacks (especially blacks) and hispanics are extremely racist. And I don't mean the type of racist where they look down on you. I mean the type of racist where they hate you and want to hurt you. When you get involved with someone, it's not just you that is involved but your families and society. Simply put, blacks and hispanics reject interracial couples while whites accept them. That will cause alot of problems with the black/hispanic family but very bad problems with the community (you will need to move to a mostly white area).

Interracial dating between blacks and hispanics causes nothing but trouble.

Asians are less problematical, especially for whites.

Hell, there are even problems with blacks and hispanics dating within their own race. For example, american blacks HATE africaners, haitians and jamaicans. Mexicans hate puerto ricans who hate cubans who hate dominicans. Hell northern mexicans and southern mexicans hate eachother (HUGE problems with gangs in our prison system revolved around this)

Like anything else, the higher your socioeconomic class, the less of a problem it is.

Just think where interracial relationships lead to. More understanding of a different culture, our becoming a totally multi-cultural world. I'm not saying that would put an end to war, it wouldn't, but it would stop a lot of them from happening because of cultural differences. Children would no longer have to put up with racial slurs, an end to racial jokes, an end to racial injustice, etc., etc.. I'm all for it.

Depends on the motive; some are OK, some are not.

Uncool:
*Thinking that women of another race are easy.
*Thinking that (wo)men of another race are better in bed.
*Wanting a White woman on your arm as a status symbol.
*Wanting a White man for a sugar daddy.
*Knowing that bringing home a date of the wrong color will bug your parents.

Cool:
*Really being into someone who just happens to be of another race.

Note how short the second list is.

My parents thought it was ok =)
I think as long as two people love each other, then race should not be a concern. I will however add that compromise and understanding will be something essential to make a relationship (this type in particular) last.

Race has nothing to do with how you "feel" for another person. You're going to date that person..(I hope) by their personality, not their race. So it's just the same as two people from the same race who's dating. No different.

I say.. Date who you want to. You cant choose who you love and you shouldnt have to. Who cares what race you are? I am italian, wht, and hispanic and my boyfriend is white. My boyfriend's mother say that she didnt think he and i should date because my hand was a different color than my palm. We have been dating for a year and I love him to death. It doesnt matter what color you are. Youre still a person. Love is love. People are people. Thats just my opinion. <3.

What about it? Some people think that these bi-racial babies are going to be shunned in school & society. My opinion is that there are so many bi-racial children now, that all white or all black babies may be the minority by the time our kids get in school. I don't think its as big of a deal as it used to be. Bi-racial babies are gorgeous too!

I think it's wonderful. I'm Caucasian (a little bit of everything) and my husband is half Japanese and the rest Italian and Irish. We have a daughter and she's gorgeous. Our last name is Japanese. Some people give me weird looks when I give my name but I don't care.

I think interratial dating is a great thing. race shouldn't matter if you care about someone. true love sees past the color of your skin, and only cares about what is on the inside of a person.
