I'm atheist and I know the Bible was written by man. However , don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. There is a lot of good to be garnered from the Bible. It was written to assist in early Community building. Moses was a leader who knew the people knew he was merely human & hence , why should they follow him. But if he could convince them that his power comes from a God then that would be a different 'Kettle of fish", Look at the 10 Commandments, , the first 3 establishes the "Godhead", the rest on living together in a civilized community. The same with "The Dietary Laws" , Pork, shellfish etc were , without proper cooking or refrigeration were very dangerous food, healthwise..
Finally, from the NT, who can argue that the "Golden Rule" is not a solid idea for getting along with others.
Good advise is worth taking regardless of the source. If you find that abelief in God is a requirement for you to do so, so be it. Good luck and God bless. Oh, sorry about that. I'm not really, it didn't cost me anything and if it makes you feel a little better Great.
One other question, since there are far more Muslims in the world, than any other faith who hold the Qu'ran as the sacred teachings, how can Christians dismiss them out of hand. They too worship the God of Abraham.

You know, when I opened this question I assumed that you would have SOME kind of argument for your position under the headline question. Your question would have been more honest if you would have just put down "It's not! It's not! It's not!" That would have said what you mean better. Anyway, to answer your "question" It is a fairy tale, or something quite close. It's self-contradictory, it says things that simply are not true. It's very easy to see that it was written and changed by mere people with their own agendas. If this really were the word of a deity, he would have done a much better job of it.

The Bible is a book for all times and all people...no man could write a book like this. God used men to pen a book that he will work through until the end of time.

Norse mythology: fairy tale or truth?? Consider this, 1000 years ago Odin spoke to men and these men recorded what they had experienced. Still today, people are hearing the word of Odin (just like Odin had planned) and everyday people are converting to Paganism. How could regular men accomplish this?? Answer is they didn't. Odin did!!! Praise be to Odin!!!

It's spelled "tale." Glad to see someone had enough of "God's will" not to get hooked on phonics.
And if someone said today that god spoke to them, people would think that they were on drugs. Which...they are. Same thing 2000 years ago. Wasn't cocaine around back then? Heroin? I know certain opium drugs were discovered in China but what about the Israeli/Middle East area? What did they have?

Once I was at the beach and I heard the word of god. It sounded like someone blaring a car-horn, but I knew it was god in disguise. Realizing that god sounds like car horns, I tried to assemble a congregation of the worthy at a nearby Ford dealership, but the guy who worked there called the cops when I tried witnessing to him and they forcibly removed me from the parking lot.

Through the power of the Holy Spirit!
Without the anointing of the Holy Spirit, no one can do anything, as Jesus says, "Apart from me you can do nothing" It is only those who are in christ have the power to testify, not by mere words by the lives they live.
