Approach the material methodically. Read through the texts, make notes, consult a teacher and discuss the topics with them as often as you can, think about what have read, apply yourself to the exercises provided at the end of each chapter, get them corrected by the teachers. You got to study hard. No short cut to success. :-)

first off, You should have an adult figure who is counseling you or helping you with your homeschooling. When you are homeschooled there are many options for help. Try your home teacher(one who is in charge, parent neighbor etc) You also have the counselors from which the school is organized from. If you still feel these people are unattainable try a friend from the school. I am a mother that teaches my son through an online accredited school and we have several options through the school for information. Being that every school is different I really cannot tell you how to organize or learn from the material given. Your best bet would be to contact the homeschool facitlities and ask someone .
Lots of luck

My advice is: Work on reading [for fun] and word comprehension.
There is no substitute for hard work, and diligence. A good thesaurus and dictionary are very helpful, too.
If you don't like to read (I think not) keep searching until you find a subject or interest that you DO like. If you watch videos, sit down with a pad and pen the next time you do, and take notes on what you see. This will help your concentration, and powers of observation, particularly in non-fictional films.

Hi, I'm in 8th grade, and if you want to ask sumthin, just email me, I have no problem with that. Well, at least I have more experience... hehehe
anyway, I'm in public school, but I love to help.
One of my ways is to underline the important sentences in your book. Or use stabilos. Believe me, it works for me and my friends, and will help you understand things easier without reading the other useless sentences.
Hope that works ^ ^

Yes, an outline would definitely help, if you can, do a search on what you are studying, my teacher gets half our homework off the Internet.

Well you are an impressive person to care so much about your schooling. I am going to assume that home schooling is to some extent very much like college and other learning methods. When I take a college class for example (e.g.) I find supplemental information such as videos, computer programs, accessory books, and help books. This may become time consuming and expensive. I also talked to two very intelligent well educated men I respected while working on my degree I said I get so tired occassionally I walk away from my studies as soon as five minutes. They said to me obviously the information is very demanding so take the break come back to the books asap. My brother in law who is a computer technician said I take all the breaks I need and I do housework which I hate in between so I go back to studying again. Having an outline will help. What I did before an examine was do an outline of questions sometimes on a paper sometimes on index cards with the answers on back then the ones I knew I put to the side and stopped studying. When I got them all memorized I would go through the pack of questions again. You can make your own cards or often buy them at an office supply store for a good price. Change your methodologies so it does not become boring. Try to find a quiet place so it does not distract you. When I began Spanish as language is not my best area I took it alone and would get so tired I would fall asleep between studying to wake up and study again so I began studying in my bed. I thought I would never learn it but I persisted. Today I can speak it well enough some people who only speak Spain regional educated Spanish say I speak it very well (not a dialect of a regional Indian and Spanish mixed) and I can translate for my friends who are Rain Forest Indians who came here when they were repetitively attacked in Guatamala. I write in my books if they are yours do that in the margin clearly. Use a highlighter. If it is not your book a very smart woman I knew used those tabs that she put on her book or markers so she could find areas of help. I have a Bachelors Degree I help children occassionally you can write me if your parents say it is ok at faerieeiren@yahoo.com but ask your parents first if they want to write me or call me I am willing to do that but please put on your subject mail who and what you are as I have high spam on my email to keep the ugly stuff out of my email as I have children at this house from my family on the computer occassional and some junk mail upset me a few times I did not want to have them accidentally see. My name is Holly and I have a BA in elementary education. Do not contact me without permission from your parents as I want no problems in my life from false accusations etc. Also protect yourself by saying you are in the 7th grade you are not protecting yourself next time ask your mother to come ask the question with you to protect yourself because there are some sick people in the world.. I am close to retirement and was disabled from an accident in the military right now so I have some time to help you as right now I am not working but intend to go back to work this week again. I would prefer to correspond with your parents or parent so please ask the questions at least with your parents or inform them when you write me for both of us to be protected. You should be very careful saying your grade level it would just really upset me to have the kids in my family here asking for help so we do not let them on the internet except for Kid networks. These are all good answers I am so impressed all very helpful except the insults. I have a Bachelors degree and still make errors in typing spelling and sentence structure. I am not writing for a thesis I am trying to communicate. Ignore the insults maybe they have indigestion today. As I was told by a very good Christian Janitor who use to take time to consul students stressed out at the University sift for the good in everything. I will always appreciate that good looking African Americans advise like every other University student did I am sure. I always think Janitors are often so close to God because the devil loves dirt and they work to remove it from Universities. The Bible says that knowledge is the greatest gift of God.

See if your parent will let you take the course your having trouble with on a computer disc that teaches it onscreen.I had trouble with language arts, and I had tried several different kinds of textbooks(I'm home schooled)until my mom suggested I take it on the computer, and I found that its easier.
