It used to be sold at Sweet Factory about 6 years ago, but they stopped carrying it. I found a small candy shop that ordered it for me but they went out of business and the new proprietor has no idea what I am talking about. I searched on the web but came up short.

Here is their description: They are shaped like a chile pepper. Mostly red in color with either a yellow or green "stem" , about 2.5" long, about .5" wide, also there is not sugar coating just bare gummi candy. They are a gummi candy, with a sweet but mostly spicy flavor, it was a unique flavor not quite cinnamon but I would say that is the closest I could describe it as. Thanks for your help.

I tried that once. Damn, I wish I knew where it is in the USA. I know it is readily available in the UK (and at online UK retail places).

It's sounds like you're describing tamarindo. It's reddish-orange colored and has a weird spicy-sweet flavor, right? I've never seen it in the form of pepper-shaped candies, but I have seen it in wrappers, baggies and small containers. Mexicans eat a lot of it, so you'll find it at any store or outlet that specifically sells Hispanic foods, ingredients and accesories.
