Finally a question i can agree with. You are absolutly right. And my answer to it. God is in the silly little minds of believers. If god did exsist in life today the world would be a picture of perfection and it's not. God isn't making miricles left and right because there isn't a god to make miricles.

I'm not a Biblethumper, but I'll give this a shot. If you expect things like that from God, you will get nothing. Its not genuine to wait until you've lost an arm to ask for it back. Instead, help those who have lost a limb, but moreso be mindful of why and the conditions under which they lost it. I'm sure there's more than one construction worker out there who's cut it really close and thanks God for being in one piece. On a more cynical note, (and maybe funnier) when was the last time someone didn't get called a hero for saving a baby from a burning house? Not recently I hope, its a moronic suicidal thing to even consider. "Why, God, why my baby?" usually comes a little late, likely by the time the kid looks like 2lbs of burnt chicken wings. Maybe this isn't a test or a trial for the woman, who now blames God for the shitty wiring, or her not having the guts to remember her kid in the fire before hauling herself out. Maybe its a reminder to you "If your house catches fire, don't forget your children, Bob." It might just occur to you to mumble "Thank God we got outta there in time and safe." you might have hustled, but it could've been worse.
The best way to see God in your everyday life is to be a good person, without expecting to be flown off to heaven if everthing goes to hell, so to speak. Finding a nickel can be a miracle, if its on the side of the road on a hot day, when its the only 5 cents between you and that ginormous Gatorade in the corner store's cooler. An extra shift down on the job openning up might be enough to get you the cash to take a night off after some serious overtime. The list is both unending and incomplete.
What I'm trying to say is, whether or not there is a God, nobody should ever expect to be saved by God, or to see miracles, or to have their wildest imaginations come true just because they go to church on Sunday.

Jesus rose again, I've never had anyone disprove that. Especially since a few of the disciples died believing it. Why would they die for something that they would've known wasn't true? The fact that Jesus rose again proves that He was God in the flesh, and so God exists. There are other things as well, such as the fact that the Bible is historically accurate in archaeology and doesn't have any contradictions, I've seen a lot of supposed contradictions, but they arise from a poor understanding of the Bible.
You act as though you get to determine how God behaves and intervenes. Do you think you have authority over God? that you can tell Him, "oh, save those ppl, why don't you save them?" That seems a little arrogant. I haven't seen the declaration of independence get signed, but I still believe it was, bc we have the document. So, I believe the Gospel bc we have reliable documents telling about the events that took place.
God's kingdom is here in part, and so sometimes miracles occur, but not all the time. When Christ returns and creates the new world, there won't be any death or disease, it will be perfect again.
paradox, God tests us to make us stronger Christians. It enables us to trust Him in even harder times so that He can be known through amazing changes in ppl. We go through a hard time now, so that later, when being a Christian is hard in a situation, maybe we're evangelizing to a group of ppl who praise treason as a virtue, like the Sawi ppl, we persevere, so that they come to Christ, as the Sawi did.

Mojo!! I think it is cool how you have hidden your secret message of:
"Hey. Adam committed the original sin and man has been cursed ever since. It has gradually gotten worse and worse because of this. There is no-one or nothing that is innocent, because we are all born from a sinner. When man tries to MAKE God perform miracles or prove him with science, they show just how feeble the human mind really is."
I think it is awesome of you to point this out and hope you the best as you try to show your past atheist friends the Way.

Actually, God has always been in everyday life. How do you think we find cures for diseases? How do you think people survive fires, floods, and earthquakes? How do you think people in hospitals are healed? We are just so used to seeing this stuff happen, we think its normal. We forget about the divine interventions and how suttle they can be. Plus, we have our own free will. If we want more miracles to happen, we have to believe they will first.

I understand the heart of your argument, truly I do. And I'm Christian...and I wonder the same thing. Why is there so much pain, daily, when it is difficult to see God in those situations, it's tought to reconcile your faith. However, I know plenty of people who have had 'divine interventions' and their lives were saved, unexplained checks came in the mail when they were on the verge of bankruptcy, sons/daughters who rejected God came to God and changed their lives, and people have gotten up from their death beds when the doctors threw up their hands in defeat.

Unfortunately I think your research hasn't been all that great.
Although I haven't heard of people's limbs reappearing, I do know of great divine intervention and I know of many miracles that are happening today. Jesus is a very personal God, and I can see his play in my everyday life, and I know many can as well.
You must keep in mind though he can't have that personal day by day encounter with the non believer because they have no authority that was purchased by Jesus Christ. We don't have the personal relationship purchased by his death....

Who said God would interfere in everyday life, even if He could? A personal God doesn't necessarily reach into your life and change things. There are lessons to be learned even in the most painful of circumstances. Ever think that maybe the point is to learn, not to be babied? If God intervened in our mistakes and our tragedies - why would we need heaven?

If you have not seen God in your life, you haven't looked for Him. He is near any on of us. The fullness of His eyes through His Spirit is going to & fro looking for hearts toward the LORD.
Instead of rejecting the Bible God & His Word, start loving Him. Then when you seek Him, you will find Him. When you Find Him, you will Love Him. The more you seek Him, the more you find Him. The more you find Him, the more you love HIm.
God reveals more of Himself. He's very personal. Read web site: FathersLoveLetter.com.
He does miracles everyday. His children see His hand in many everyday life situations. I know. I am one of them. God Is.

it is appointed unto man to once die but this is only your earthly body we will be given a new body the moment you were born into this world you began dying its is what you do in this time that determines were you will spend eternity for there is a second death and it is for all who did not choose life through Jesus Christ he came and died for all of our sins for we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God he died so we MIGHT have live and have it more abundantly but it takes more then believing it takes loving God because the devil knows this and he believes this but he does not love God.
