You did what you thought you had to do. Running from a dog is NOT the best thing to do. When you run it becomes a game to them, and you become prey. The next time this happens stand your ground and in a loud stern voice, showing no fear, say NO STAY, and continue on your way. If the dog follows say again NO STAY.
If this doesn't work, stick your head between your legs and kiss your a** goodbye. lol j/k Good luck
