All depends on what you like to do. Coz is known for it's water activities. The scuba and snorkling is great. Also, there are bunches of beach clubs to hang out at. If you are not into the beach, the dune buggy tour is a blast. Also there is a big national park on the island which alot of people to go. It has beaches, snorkling, dolphin encounters, a museum etc.

When you get off the ship, take a cab and ask them to go to the beach! they will know which one you are talking about. The water is great. You can make it fun or relaxing. Alot to do, alot to drink. personally I drank, went to the beach, drank, and swam... Maybe not the best combination but I went with the family there on Carnival Elation, Carnical Triumph and I cant remember the name of the ship when I first went there, but 3 times. Loved it everytime. Its a 5 minute cab ride if that. Alot of fun!

Cozumel is very easy to do "on your own". Chankanaab Park is [or was, before Wilma] beautiful and would have everything you need. For lots of helpful info, go to CruiseCritic.com and the Cozumel port board. Cozumel is beautiful!

cozumel has verry beautiful beaches the last cruise i took was in janurary, i took my mom 4 her christmas presant, they had a open bar,a little zoo,and diffrent things u could do.

i have been to playa mia twice and would go back again. it is a park that is right on the beach. you take a cab from the ship at your leisure and take a cab back to the ship at your leisure. it was very nice.
