Ok, you are aware that this is from the old testament, before Jesus was sent as an atonement for sin, right? Neither I, nor anyone else can tell you the "whys" of God's actions. The best we can do is tell you what we "think" from having studied the bible. In this passage Isaiah is referring to the judgement that could come to Babylon. They had been warned repeatedly about what had happened to other nations for their failure to obey God and that this could/would be in their future. LOng before babylon became a world power and threatened Judah, Isaiah spoke of its destruction. Babylon was the rallying point of rebellion again God after the flood. If you know the bible, you will know that Revelation 17 & 18 use Babylon as a symbol of God's enemies. God of the Old Testament is an angry and jealous God. If we even try to look at things from His eyes, imagine how frustrating it would be to see His creation essentially spitting in His face. I believe in Creation, so I believe God made us as something special. He wanted to give us a great inheritance, that we could never even imagine the greatness of. But we have to deserve it. He could have created us with a mind to worship and obey Him without the option to turn away and sin but He didn't want us to obey because we had to, rather because we choose to. That kind of worship would be hollow. So He gives us free will in the hopes we will do what He has told us, to do what is right. And instead, the people of that time period worshipped false gods, behaved outragously immorally, and yeah, He was angered. Would I say the answer is to kill children and rape women, no, I wouldn't. Do I know why or if God allowed it? No I don't. He may have allowed it, but that doesn't mean he "condoned" it, satan has been around along time. And he (satan) is the one that causes things like that to happen, not God. But I do believe we live in the New Testament age and I thank God for sending Jesus so I don't suffer those unbearable things for my sinful nature. This answer might not be good enough for you, but it is what I believe. Sorry it is so lengthy. Peace to you & yours.

This has nothing to do with the raping and killing of women and babies. Go read the whole thing and not just one verse. God here is show us a picture of what is going to happen in the great tribulation after Jesus has return and the lost stand against Him

This was an example of old testement Bible. Before he came to Earth and lived as a human and knew the life of a human. It is also an example of God's wrath, how horrible it can be. He isn't saying "RAPE THE WOMEN KILL THE CHILDREN!" It's speaking of an incident. Funny how the people who cause these wraths with their disbelief are the first to bring them forth. Christ brought forth the New Covenent, the nonviolent covenent the covenent of Love. Maybe if you read it all the way through, you'll understand it better. Besides who are you to judge God?

in the old testament, God destroyed cities because of their rebellion against him. it is true that innocent people along with the evil were destroyed. Look at Sodom and Gomora, the days of Noah... etc. At one time God destroyed a group of children by a she bear because they were makin fun of his prophet. if people really want to understand the true orgin or ways of God, read the old testament. He has always meant what he said and said what he meant. People tend to think to lightly of God. He is a God of mercy, love, and grace. What people actually forget and understand is that if you dont follow the word of God, you will be destroyed. What about in the end time? There is going to be women and children ( who have reached the age of accountability) who have rejected him.. be cast into hell because of their own rebellion. They will hear him say depart from me ye that work iniquity I never knew you or I know you not.

God does not support that. You took that verse out of context, and if you read it all it is about what will happen to the wicked, it is how they will be punished. God does not want anyone to be wicked.

why do you think every bad thing that happens is because God allowed it? The Devil works too, and we have free will and people make bad things happen. God just helps us face them if we ask and believe.

GOD WENT INSANE FROM LIVING BY HIMSELF FOR 1000 YEARS UNTIL HE INVENTED ANGELS WHO TURNED OUT TO BE GAY. THEN IT WAS ANOTHER 1000 YEARS OF SEVERE MENTAL TRAMA UNTIL HE WAS ABLE TO INTELLIGENT DESIGN A SUITABLE VIRGIN TO KNOCK UP.
