It's not much different from planning a camping trip. Necessities first. You want food, water, and a good first-aid kit for starters. You can buy the civilian version of MREs. They cost about $5 per meal and have a good shelf life. Water is the big issue. If you store a gallon per person per day, and you want to be able to last a week, nine people means 63 gallons of water.
Flashlight and radio. Batteries, unless you get the hand-powered versions. Spare clothes. Blankets. A tarp and a couple of clothesline cords so you can rig a shelter.
Check sites like the Red Cross for other ideas.
