I'm talking to this guy who I am genuinely interested in. I've known him for awhile now. We talk on the phone maybe once or twice a week. My question is this, does it mean anything that when we talk it's for hours at a time?

It seems like he's genuinly interested in you the person, not just you the body. It's a very good sign.

Let me give you a little insight about guys. Guys will say or do anything if it gets them closer to getting a girl in bed. It doesn't make them bad guys. It's the result of having hormones that you didn't have before starting to rage through your body.
It's not a bad thing that you talk for hours on the phone. It's a good way to get to know someone without possibility of physical attraction getting in the way. And can find out if there is something you really don't like about him. But does it mean you really know him? The answer is "No".
Take it slow and find out who he really is before investing emotionally in any relationship with him. You'll thank yourself later in life.

Question back at you. Does he do most of the talking or do you? Is it about random nothingness or actually interesting?
Him talking: He's probably interested.
You talking: You're probably killing the silence as always, unless responding to him.
Randomness: He's probably interested.
Interesting: He's gay.
But to actually answer this questions with all honesty, the only thing it means is that one or both of you are going to have a very high phone bill, unless you have a stellar deal from the phone company.

I have been in this situation before, the reason may be that both of you are genuinely interested at each other and enjoy each other's company. This does not mean that it you should have a relationship with him, sometimes being just friends is better; taking it to another level just messes up everything.

Plenty! When you talk for hours on the phone, you try to get to know one another well. The question is would you still talk at that same level when you are personally facing each other?

Sounds like he is in the friend zone. If you dont wan him to think that go out to dinner and wear something that will catch his attention and stay close to him the whole time. If he doesnt get the hint you like him then he is
1. A friend and nothing more,
2. An idiot,
and 3. Gay.
If all else fails just tell him you want it in you.

You should ask him what he thinks about you and ask for the truth. If you too talk on the phone for hours, then yes probably it does mean something

It means that, at a distance, anyway, that you are comfortable talking to each other. Talking is communicating, an that's necessary for a building relationship. Will it go anywhere? Depends upon wher you want to take it. At some point, one of you has to say, "hey, let's get together and have coffee".
Then, don't be surprised if he can't talk in your presence. he could be shy.

1. it means at least one of you is very talkative
2. it may mean one of you is a good talker, the other a good listener
3. if you are talking long distance, it may mean a higher phone bill
4. maybe you should quit the talking, and do some walking

First things first.....
A guy will only love a girl for what goes on in the bedroom....
and he prays and hopes that she is hot and has a good personality....but thats just the stuff on the side in which he doesnt care about.
