I know that some ppl take hold of the scruff of the neck of a dog and use it as a technique of training in some aggressiveness but I have a friend who allows there daughter to carry there 6 month old mini pin around all the time. I was wondering, will that cause any permanent physical harm to the dog?

If they keep this up they're just asking to get bitten. Mothers do it to their very young puppies, this isn't something people should be doing. This girl needs to be taught how to treat a dog in a hurry.

Mothers carry the puppies around by the scruff up to a certain age, then they stop. This can cause problems in the neck, and spine if it is done all the time after a certain age. To lift a dog up by the scruff all the time every day is not a good thing to do. After a while it will stretch the skin, muscles, and nerves out, and the dog will have problems.

Not to be mean, but I wonder how that child would feel if she was carried around by the scruff of her neck every day all day.
Good luck.

You shouldnt carry a dog by its scruff, their moms only carry them like this for a few weeks when they are very young pups. There are better ways to train a dog that is being aggressive. They should take the pup to a behaviorist.

Out of curiosity why does your friend allow his daughter to grab his dog by the scruff and carry it around the house?

I think the parents of this girl need to explain how to treat animals properly, maybe they should carry her round by the scruff of the neck and see how she likes it.

Your friend really needs to show the daughter a much more
proper way to hold a dog than to drag it around like a handbag.
My parents would have beaten me if I held our dog like that.

Eventually, that little f*cker is gonna bite the kid. And I am guessing the parents are going to blame the dog.

Humans are so stupid.

It shouldn't hurt the dog, but when the dog gets older and decides it doesn't like it, it may bite the child.

I would NEVER allow a child to hold a pet. Children always do cruel things to their pets, and when they die they will wonder why. (hey thats rhymes)
