Christians claim that the homosexual life style goes against the Biblical Principles. They are right. But isn't the Atheist lifestyle also against Biblical Principles?
Since Christians are doing this because of principle, shouldn't they also try to ban Atheist Marriage?
If Adam and Steve are allowed to Marry, its possible that children of Christianw might get the idea that homosexuality is acceptable.
Isn't there a Danger that Atheist/Agnostic Jim Darwin and (insert atheist girlfriend name here) might get married, and that the chidlren of Christians might get the idea that Atheism is acceptable.
Additionally, because this is about the Bible, and not homophobia, should synogogs not be allowed to marry, and mosques?
Since this isn't about homophobia, but about the Bible, and homosexuality is incompatible with a Biblical lifestyle, along with Jewish people, Atheism, and Islam?

***In addition to wishing to ban Gay Marriage, do Christians wish to ban Atheist Marriage? ***
Yes, if the object of such an endeavor was to
satisfy the dictates of their God, they must.
The spiritual intrudes into the physical to every ones detriment. To tell others who they can and can not love, stinks of busybodies and arrogance. We must now and forever be vigilant against those that would restrict us in the name of the patently preposterous.

To honestly answer your question, Christians don't have that on their to-do list right now. However, you ARE partially correct about this. While atheism and other religions do go against Biblical principles, though, one other point that Christians have tried to make is that marriage is their religious tradition, and they don't want it changed merely to suit another group's needs. So I don't think that what you've talked about here will ever come to pass.
However, please don't think I am rejecting your thoughts on this matter -- I think that was well thought out, and a good point on hypocrisy, but I don't quite think that it's exactly what the Christians have in mind. I myself don't really want to take a side here, but still, congrats on an interesting question. I'm assuming I'll be followed by flames? Good luck, then, and good-bye.

I'm against homosexual marriage bc God says homosexual behavior is a sin. With respect to why I'm not against atheistic marriage. Marriage should be about following God and raising godly children, however, that isn't all of it. In an atheistic marriage between a man and a woman, you have both the masculine and feminine identities present to help mold and raise mature children. In homosexual marriage, one of those genders is missing, God designed marriage to bind the masculine and feminine natures in men and women.
While atheistic marriage isn't the best option, it's better if they're Christians, it is better than homosexual marriage since it involves both the masculine and feminine natures in the relationship and in raising any children.
How a Christian child could ever get the idea that atheism is acceptable I don't know, as they would understand that an atheist doesn't have forgiveness for his or her sins and isn't going to heaven, which should be a goal for everyone.

As a conservative atheist who votes Republican most of the time, i might desire to care much less approximately gay marriage... Frankly, i do no longer in elementary terms like the reality that it somewhat is even a communicate in politics on the nationwide point. it particularly is a non secular rely it somewhat is a distraction and is unnecessarily divisive. If the government desires to meddle in marriage concerns, enable or no longer it somewhat is on the state point so the federal government could be freed-as much as get something sensible carried out. All this being suggested, i will grudgingly settle for the few faith-pushed policies of the Republicans, gay-marriage and abortion, until now i will even start to settle for the Democrats' platform that promotes own irresponsibility, government dependence, income redistribution, experimental social engineering, and is regularly an attack on self sustaining persons.

Marriage is two things - a covenant with God and a legal union.
Unfortunately, in many cases only the latter is observed.
You have equated Gay marriage and athiest marriage which is a fallacy in the question.
Because we do not live in a theocracy - marriage can be only a legal union, although almost all ceremonies observe or include mention of God - because at least at the most meaningful times of oour lives most will acknowledge him.
The problem is the leaving out of the most important part of a marriage - the presence of God with the couple in the marriage.
Marriage is also meant under God's order, to be a man and a woman.

Since we are supposed to have a separation of church and state in this country according to our Constitution, I do not believe that gay or atheist marriages should be legally banned. The battle for this right is not a religious one.

There are Christians who don't have a problem with same sex marriages. Gay's have marriage ceremonies performed by clergy. It's the state's that don't recognize them as legally married.
There are also people, who don't call themselves Christians, who are against same sex marriage. So why heap all the blame on Christians?

Great point. Unfortunately it's not just Christians, but the courts who've ruled that marriage is only for procreation purposes and they don't consider annuling the marriages of all sterile couples. . .
