Most dogs only need to be bathed when they are dirty or prior to be groomed, which should be every 4-6 weeks, depending on the breed. Yorkies, poodles, schnauzers, and any other dog that gets its coat cut all should go in 4-6 weeks to see a groomer. Much longer and the coat has the potential to become matted, unless you brush every couple days. Dogs like a husky, sheltie, and thicker haired dogs should go in about every 6 weeks to remove dead hair from their coat. Dogs such as a lab, pit bull, and shorter haired dogs only need to go in if they are stinky or dirty.

Bathing is usually not necessary more than once a month. It dries out the dog's skin and coat, so when you do bath, it's best to use dog shampoo and conditioner. It also helps if you put a little oil on the dog's food.

As for grooming, it depends on what king of dog you're talking about. If it's a long-haired breed, if you brush them thoroughly once a week you won't have a problem with mats and the dog will love being groomed. If it's a smooth-coated dog, you should still brush them at least weekly to get all the dead hair out. Regular grooming keeps their coats looking gorgeous no matter what breed you have.

it depends on the breed. every dog should be brushed daily, but usually you can get away with bathing a dog every 3 or 4 weeks. you can, if you chose, bathe a dog every week, but use an oatmeal shampoo otherwise the skin will dry out and the dog will scratch constantly, which can lead to a number of problems.

it depends on the breed, but usually you should only bathe your dog when he is smelly or dirty, once a month or if neccasary, once a week, anymore will dry out the skin and cause the dog to scratch more grooming however can be done without a bath. if ou have a long haired breed like a yorkie, whiteland, then every day would be the best, and if you have a shorthaired, once a week is fine, : )

yes it does depend on the breed. Some dogs shed lots of hair and some dont. If you find lots of dog hair on the floor of your home then i recomend brushing her every day or every other day. And bathing should be done once a month. If your dog likes to go outside and get dirty alot then maybe twice a month.

I bathe both of my dogs every other month. This will not dry out their skin, and strip the natural oils from their skin and coat. The only time that I bathe them in between is if they have rolled in something, and stink to high heaven. If you want to bathe a puppy please use puppy shampoo. Using adult dog shampoo on puppies will make them sick.If its an adult dog please use adult dog shampoo. Using human shampoo, and dish soap will make dogs and puppies sick, and strip the natural oils out of their skin, and coat.

As for grooming your dog you can brush them everyday, and clip their nails every two weeks. Good luck

The dog has a natural oder. Only when they become overwhelming to their owner should the be bathed. They need their oils they produce to have a healthy coat.

I hardly bathe my dogs at all. I find it unnecessarily to bathe them so obsessively. Bathing a dog alot isn't exactly healthy... you will dry out their skin and will cause skin problems (obsessive itching)

As far as grooming my dog? I do that alot, since my dogs shed their coat.

if its short haired mybe twice a week, well i have a long haired toy dog so its best if u do it every other day or if u have the time daily it will just take 20 min of ur time by shamppoing ur dog, then blowdry and ur off to go... it prevents matting and tangling of hairs thats really a pain to remove if u tend to forget bout brushing ur dog. it will also prevent that dog odor and any ticks or lice, or skin diseases

I give my dog a bath every 7 days. She usually stinks after the 2nd day because we do a lot of physical things together like hiking. I brush her just about everyday its a good bonding experience and she doesn't shed all over my house.
