Slow Cooker Barbecued Ribs
These ribs are a great main dish for when friends come over to watch the game.
3 1/2pounds pork loin back ribs
1/4cup packed brown sugar
1teaspoon salt
1/2teaspoon pepper
3tablespoons liquid smoke
2garlic cloves, chopped
1medium onion, sliced
1/2cup cola
1 1/2cups barbecue sauce
1 . Spray inside of 4- to 5-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.
2 . Remove inner skin from ribs. Mix brown sugar, salt, pepper, liquid smoke and garlic; rub mixture into ribs. Cut ribs into 4-inch pieces. Layers ribs and onion in slow cooker. Pour cola over ribs.
3 . Cover and cook on low heat setting 8 to 9 hours or until tender. Remove ribs from slow cooker. Drain and discard liquid.
4 . Pour barbecue sauce into shallow bowl. Dip ribs into sauce. Place ribs in slow cooker. Pour any remaining sauce over ribs. Cover and cook on low heat setting 1 hour.
Note: This recipe was tested in slow cookers with heating elements in the side and bottom of the cooker, not in cookers that stand only on a heated base. For slow cookers with just a heated base, follow the manufacturer’s directions for layering ingredients and choosing a temperature.

Sure you can. It depends on how soon you want them done. I usually boil mine for a little bit on the stove first to get some of the fat out. About 10 minutes or so. Into the crock pot I put 1 can tomato sauce and one bottle of barbeque sauce a little brown sugar and black pepper and add the boiled ribs. Leave on medium for at least 6 hours.. longer is even better.

yep u sure can, I prefer to use country rips over baby backs in the crock pot though both work. Just season the ribs as you like and add about an inch of water to the bottom. Cook on high for about 4 or 5 hours or 8 to 9 hours on low.

I do. With BBQ sauce, cooked on low for about 10 hours. They turn out so tender and yummy. My kids loved them. And now I cook them for a special dinner when the kids come to visit ;-D.
