Because Morality is not taught in Schools.
Many Parents with both working don't have time to teach their children.
So much of the world looks like it trying to get to Hell as fast as possible. There is so much sexual immorality these days.
So many people are running around with spiritual blinders on that they have no idea that they are rushing in the wrong direction.
Seems like this world is going to hell in a hand basket.
God and God's teachings don't change to get with the times.
Those who love God Strive to be moral and to follow the teachings of God.
Yes people can be moral without being a Christian but it is very difficult.
God Bless you, ;-)

Because Christians are mandated to behave morally (as are other religious persons).
The Ten Commandments are God's Moral code to Christians (yes, Christians, not just to the Jews). An Immoral Christian is an oxymoron. Christianity demands a certain level of morality congruent with the fact that a Christian is a follower or disciple of Christ.
People are correct to expect or even demand a very high level of morality in Christians.
On the other hand, being moral is not necessarily being Christian.

Because Christianity has been teaching that only by being a christian can someone do right and be good...as if God's creation of mankind is incapable of doing good without some dude in a big hat and a funny collar telling us so. Religion has claimed morality for its own when ANYONE can be a good and moral person without religion

Christians are taught that human nature is depraved. They seem willing to believe this despite the evidence: The majority of humans are far from depraved. That's why only a small percentage of the population lives in prison.
Think about it. Nine out of ten people you know (at least) would do anything in their power to help you. You know it's true.
But sadly, it seems that many Christians (and let's be fair -- many others as well) seldom stop to consider this.

Christians are supposed to try to follow the bible. If this is your idea of moral, then Christians are supposed to act moral. However, humans are not perfect. Even Christians sin. They just need to keep trying.

Hey, is this about profiling?
Just kidding.
There are a lot of members in the christian culture who use their christianity as a badge. It becomes an all encompasing identity. They proclaim themselves as christians in business to make themselves appear more trustworthy to prospective clients.
In my business, they try to use it to get free work from us on engineering and design of churches and recreational centers.
It's a sort of "idea" that society has placed upon an ancient practise..."Men of God" deserve the support of the people. Just being Christian doesn't make you a moral person, but wearing the badge is a way to give the impression that you care about morality.

Because christians are self-righteous, arrogant, and hypocrites. Has nothing to do with doing the right thing or "behaving morally."

I am doing the best I can, and I'm sincere.
Even if you could do far better than you are doing now, you still can't do well enough, because you don't please God by being good (Gal. 2:21), but by accepting Jesus (John 1:12).
Sincerity is not the way to heaven. What if you are sincerely wrong? (Remember John 14;6?)
If you are relying on your sincerity, then you are saying because you are sincere, you are therefore good enough, on your own, to be with God. Don't you see, to appeal to your sincerity is to appeal to pride, because you are appealing to something that is in you and not God, for your reason to go to heaven? I am sorry, sincerity is not enough. You must have faith, in Jesus.
How long have you been doing your best? Has it worked so far? Has it given you eternal life?

I don't know many Christians who act morally - there are a lot who think they're better than everybody else.

They are either misled or ignorant to what being a true Christian means. They are probably guided by people who haven't read the Bible but like the idea of going to heaven.
