I want to make hotdogs and sauerkraut for dinner tonight, do I have to defrost or boil the hotdogs before I put them in the crockpot?

No the heat from the crock pot will heat them up make sure they are in there for at least 1/2 hr. if not more.

No,And why do you need a crock pot to do it in?Hot dogs are already cooked when you buy them.if your making the kraut from raw ingredients in the crock add the tube steaks during the last 15 minutes.As always use your common culinary sense or go to the local drive thru.

NO, you do not have to defrost them. They are already cooked and all they need is heating until hot.

Nope, just make sure they are thawed. It also depends on the temperature of your crockpot.

No the hot dogs will taste better if you put them in frozen and they won't shrivel.

Just throw them in the pot as is. Add some sauteed chopped onion and a couple of slices of cooked crumbled bacon to really set it off!
