Your parents probably have a good reason for saying no. Puppies are a lot of work. They take money, time, energy, and lots of attention. What's going to happen to the puppy while you're at school, with friends, doing after-school activities, etc? Do you have a job to pay for everything the puppy needs...food, dishes, training, vet, emergencies? Have you ever been responsible for a pet before? If not, see if you're parents will get you a fish or something else small like a hamster or gerbil. If you care for that well enough, maybe your parents will let you get a dog. If they do let you get a dog, go to the animal shelter to get one...you'll be saving a life and the dog will be grateful for it!

You must make sure that you a responsible enough to handle a dog, that you will take care of it no matter what. If your a hundred percent sure that you will then I would try the following. The first thing to do is to research, find out exactly what type of dog you want, whether it's pure breed or from the pound. If you don't care I would suggest seeing if your local pound has a website so you can look at pictures and read history's about each dog. Then I would arrange a visit to the pound, maybe the first time go with a friend, ask to see the dog you like most. There should be a room or place outside where you can interact with the dog privately. After you have met with the dog and are sure its the one you want, I would present the information to your parents. By doing the research and going to see the dog first your proving to your parents that you are serious about having a dog and taking responsibility for it. Good Luck.

I know, I know, you're not going to like this....but the best way to covince your parents is by acting mature (not whining)and preparing all of the reasons why the family should have a puppy and why you will be good at taking care of it. When they're still not convinced, remind them that you will take responsibility of a dog, taking it for walks, feeding it, etc.... :)

Are you bored enough to take them out at 5 am to go to the washroom, and then clean up the mess and then play with them for 15 minutes. If you are that bored, then maybe you can persuade your folks.

okay, well, if you have done all of you research, and are willing to clean up messes, feed it, and get up to walk it, then here's my advice, dont rush it!, thats always the problem, start off small. get a small pet first, and then when your parents see how well thats going, ask them for a dogs and promise to treat the pets the same, thats my advice, good luck on you're puppy search! : )
