This is a simple answer that is actually covered in the Bible. God's Word says those who will not hear the truth, will not hear it. The people who do not follow God's laws are those who embrace sin, who do not want to get out of it, who have no faith, who do not want to hear it, who are too blind by sin to see it. God's hands are all around us. Any non-believer and ask a true Christian to explain some proof of God's existance, they can give you exact answers. Ask me and I can tell you where I have seen God's hands in my life and I can go on for hours. It is easy and entertaining to read and magazine or newspaper. It does not require you to look at how sinful your life is and make you feel a need to change. A magazine only makes you want to buy more worldly things you don't need.
I'd like to address a couple of answers from above:
1- The Bible has been changed and rewritten so many times to make it easier for us to understand. They used words back then we don't use today and gave examples of things we don't do today. It is for our benefit, not to re-do God's Word.
2-There is not 1 single word in the Bible that is contradictory. God is ever solid like a rock in His Word and laws. If you find something YOU "think" is contradictive, it is because you are not praying before reading for God's understanding to be with you and you are changing the Bible into what you want to make it out to be.
3-There is a God: the 1 true God, and one day EVERY KNEE WILL BOW. This is written in the Bible very clear. He wants us to bow now and make the life changing sacrifices for Him as He sacrificed His only begotton Son for us. John 3:16
4-God does not only call some, He calls us ALL. Non-believers are the ones who deny Him. Some of us are "chosen" and special to Him, but this is a totally different subject. All are called, but only few will answer. Written thousands of years ago, and still holds true today.
God Bless.

I do not show any concern for mindless drivel in magazines. As for the newspaper, it's an okay source to get general ideas of what's going on in the world. The Bible, on the other hand, reminds me of the telephone game. Where you sit in a circle, tell someone something in their ear, and then pass it around, and then the last person says what they heard. Things can become pretty misinterpreted. Plus there have been so many translations of the Bible, and if you have ever watched a foreign film or studied any other language beside your own, you know translations don't always come through quite right. Although, the Bible is a decent source for learning history, and getting some good guidelines for morals (ie, the ten commandments).
I choose to believe on faith alone. I'm not a Christian, but I believe in God and alot of what He can do.

1) Star and OK magazine are based on actual events but mostly gossip.
2) Nothing about bible proves it to be the word of God....the word of luke and paul and peter, etc but the closest thing in the bible itself that comes right from God is the 10 commandments and notice that Moses had to go get them ALONE and then smashed them.
3) I could point to a book written by any human (just like bible was) and say it is word of God but doesn't make it true.
4) People now worship bible which makes them violators of the 1st commandment.
5) The bible contradicts itself very very very badly all throughout the book.
6) which bible translation is the word of God? They are all different so who got it 100% right?
7) Why when people ask for explination for anything the answer is "cause bible says so" when it is nothing more than a collection of stories and genelogies that are to be used as examples not strict laws. Do you lack all ability to think?
8) Why do people say Bible is perfect and ignore Old Testament?
9) If Old testament is valid why does 90% of the Christian population violate bible rules by eating of the cloven hoof animals
10) If the bible is so perfect then why did the council of Niccia expunge almost all texts and leave only about 10% of the orginal product?
Answer to anything is that bible is not the infalliable word of God people say it is. It is a book written by men..that is all..it has some good stuff in it, it has some terrible stuff in it..but it's just a book. To think the bible if perfect and unquestionable is to set it above God itself and hence both wrong and silly.
I would suggest that people grow up and instead of being slaves to a crutch that gives excuses for all your evil behavior try to stand up on your own and actually FOLLOW God by embracing truth, light, intelligence, reason, logic, decency, humility in knowning that God and life are more than a book could ever explain, and USE YOUR MIND.
If I said I walked up to a river and spread my arms and caused it to seperate to allow for my passage, said I threw a stick to the ground and it turned into a snake, turned someone to salt by making them look one way, turned water into wine..you would think I was crazy..but because a 2000 year old book tells you it must be true.....So why am I gonna believe it again? Cause you said it is true...well I think you are lying..sorry to be rough but I do

Since the Bible is old and since many interpretations of the Bible have been formed, it's hard for people to believe anything because it's so confusing. God allows you to doubt your faith from time to time, but always asks you to come back to Him in the end. I believe in God and a down to Earth Catholic. But, I don't read star or OK magazine.

People don't believe the Bible because they say it's history and not believable, because it contains numerous errors, because there are contradictions. Of course the Bible is history - it is an account of people and their relationship with God from the beginning. Numerous errors and contradictions? Have any of these self-styled "experts" provided a valid error or a contradiction? I am still waiting for examples, despite several challenges. And then there is the classic "God doesn't exist" syndrome. A famous architect, Sir Christoper Wren, designed many beautiful buildings, and on his gravestone in St.Paul's Cathedral (England) are the following words - Lector, si monumentum requiris circumspice (Reader, if you seek his monument, look around you). As for God's existence - skeptic, if you doubt the existence of God, look around you and at the night sky, and marvel at His handiwork. Go well, and God Bless!

People believe what they want to believe. God gave us a choice.
The big problem is that people live to 'do their own thing'. They
do not like being told that what they are doing is wrong. I think
that is why they don't read the Bible, it tells what they are doing
is wrong, immoral, and things God hates. That cuts out their
FUN, if you can call it that. Those magazines feed their 'itching
ears', as they are called in the Bible. They seem to give the
people 'a bit of comfort' because they are doing what these
people are doing or would like to do. They don't care that the
story is 'half' lies, the truth has been blown all out proportion..
In Romans !, it tells that God gave up on those people and left them to their own devices, sin, immoral practices & etc.
God doesn't have pity on those kind of people. They don't want
any thing to do with God so He has nothing to do with them.

for all those who don't believe the bible is true: it is formed from many different writings in that time. There was a meeting to form the full bible. To be included in the bible, it had to be written by one of Jesus' followers (who know the truth and has seen things happening). It had to be consistant with Jesus' teachings. And it had to be true. When the bible was formed, people who actually spent time with Jesus were still alive. Everyone knew what was going on because of society (because not many could read, they told stories of the day to relax and have fun). All books in the bible had to be true or it would not have been copied so many times. There would have been an uproar from people who state the stories in it are not true.
The bible is still accurate through all the translations. It is translated right from original text.
People still read and believe writings from Plato. It was written around 427-347 BC. The earliest copy we have is from 900 AD. That's 1200 years between. The New Testament in the bible was written in 50-90 AD. The earliest copy we have is from 130 AD. That is only 40 years apart. Take from that what you wish

Star and OK magazine only tells you who's going out with who (I suppose... I read neither). To believe them is to just assume that it's correct, hardly a life-altering assumption. It's like believing the butler did it.
As for the Bible... you say it's God's word, I say how do you know that? Sorry, but in my mind it's entirely plausible that all of you Christians are believing in a myth. Believe it all you will, just don't force me into it.

I don't read those magazines. But I don't believe the bible because it is an outdated book written by men thousands of years ago that has next to no baring on the world today and has been used to spread hate far too many times to be excused.
