Why doesn't Washington get their $hit together?

Every day the newspapers on border cities next to mexico report how many crimes are being commited by illegals,from drive bys to car thefts to assaaults and even murders,our jails and our law enforcement agencys have their hands full,and yet our representatives in Washington starting with our own president are sitting on their behinds doing nothing about it,boneheads like Ted Kennedy even want to reward some of the law breakers that stole social security numbers.

cruisecowboy,I guess if you ignore the crimes being commited by illegals,the impact on our social services provided to children of illegals,the housing of thousands upon thousands of illegals in our prisons,and the health care provided by taxpayers for illegals and their families,not to mention the many victims of those stolen social security numbers in back taxes,yes illegals are a bargain,but not to the taxpayers,only to greedy places that hire them

My humble recomendation,SEAL THE BORDERS IMMEDIATElY before it gets worse

They compared polls of the citizens vs. polls of the federal politicians and only 14% of elected politicians polled last year thought immigration was a serious problem needing priority. The vast majority of citizens thought it was a serious problem needing priority.

The politicians are WAY out of touch with the voters.

The truth is that US needs the illegal Mexicans (and others) to perform low paid jobs that regular US sitizents does not want - or can not afford to hold.
There are more than 1 million illegal workers in California alone, if these were removed the infrastructure known today would collapse - services like taxis, restaurants, gardeners and allike would more or less dissapear - the services would become too expensive if Americans did it themselves.

The US government does not have to provide sosial services, insurance, minimum income guarantee to millions of people that does jobs for basically no pay.

Now - imagine if you could run a business with workers that accept half the pay, no guarantees + you didn't have to pay employment taxes for any of them - your business would be extremely successfull. So why isn't USA a successfull business/corporation? Well - cause their president is an idiot - and it is a fact that Bush has managed more than 6 corporations that all have filed for bankrupsy (except those that are funded by United Arab Emirates - such as the #1 port security enforcement firm in the US!!!!)

I don't know why the Americans accept it - go figure

My take on the problem with Washington, DC, is that our elected representatives are so used to being re-elected no matter what they do, that they've lost touch with the idea of doing the right thing. My idea of a solution is to fire Congress, i.e., vote no to every incumbent that is running for re-election. This will teach the next Congress who really runs this country--we the people.

Of course, some people favor the alternative. Keep electing the same people over and over again and hoping for a better result.
