Ok, my hair is thick, dark brown and tinted red (natural color) and long....to the middle of my back and maybe a little longer. It has volume and everything because I blow dry it with my hair flipped over. Alright, here's what I already do.....I shampoo it and condition it everyday (have to or else it gets oily), when its wet I brush it with a soft bristle brush and I try to get it trimmed at least every two months.....would you do anything different? If so, what? And if its a product could you tell me what brand? Thanks for the help!

I have to blow dry it everyday or else it looks sort of flat.....what about an ionic blow dryer? Are those better?

If you feel that you need to blow dry you hair daily you really should use a heat protectant on it. Either mousse, spray gel, or a heat tamer. This will protect against overstyled/heat damaged hair and split ends. Other than that, it sounds like you're doing just fine!

I also have very long, thick hair. (Go figure that I would call myself longhairchic!!) I know that if yours is as thick as mine it takes all day for it to dry without blow drying, so there isn't much of an alternative to that. Keep having it trimmed regularly. A new personal favorite hair product on the market for me is the Garnier Fructis Leave-in Conditioner. You can get it for moistire, sleek & shine, or volume - I believe. I go for more of the shiny, slinky look so I use the Sleek & Shine. I absolutely love it. It costs $3.00 to $4.50 depending where you shop. Also, make sure that you change what kind of shampoo and conditioner you use every couple of weeks. Using the same ones over and over causes like a build up.

well i recommend cleaning yur hair every other day because it's probably very dry and over cleaning it takes all the natural oils away. and since u blow dry so often i suggest using heat safe products like TiGi's spray and shine or smooth and shine. and u definitly need a deep conditioning treatment, use once a week . I swear by Toni and Guy products, they're a little more expensive than the stuff you'll find @ wal mart or target but that's why it works so well. U can buy those products at any Toni & Guy salon, online, or professional salon. P.S. do not buy TiGi products @ sally beauty supply or walgreens, osco, target etc. they're all counterfeit!!! good luck

Don't use a brush on your hair when it is wet,use a wide tooth comb. Try to lay off the hair dryer and use shampoo only on your root area every other day,use shampoo on all your hair everyother day,you can even dilute your shampoo with water to make it less harsh. As far as trimming, every two months is fine, you only need to trim if you see split ends.

You should get your hair trimmed every six weeks not two months. And to do less damage to your hair stop blowing drying it everyday.

Lay off the blow drying. You'd do best to dry it naturally, because heat ruins your hair. It ruined mine.

Yipes! If I had hair like you, I'd keep doing what I'm doing and not change a thing. It sounds as though everything is kosher.
