Not really. I took it for a couple of years (as well as Ritalin, concerta, methylin, and some non stimulant ADD medications).
I did have some nausea after I ate, though. But I think that is the case with stimulants in general? I don't know, I dont have much experience with street drugs.
I did lose some weight with the stuff, but i lost far more with the Ritalin. I can tell you, though, that adderall is much nicer than Ritalin and some of the others. It is made up of a mixture of amphetamine salts and it has less side effects and has much less up and down than others. Thats why i switched to it - I didn't like the way Ritalin made you a little amped then it dropped off kinda suddenly. Adderall lasts longer and seems to be more level.
Anyways, the side effects to Adderal, according to the wikipedia site:
Increased heart rate, Insomnia, Anorexia (loss of appetite), Vertigo, Headache, Diarrhea, Sweating, Sexual dysfunction,
Dry Mouth, Irritability, Tremor, Euphoria
Less common side effects
Upset stomach, Nervousness, Mydriasis, Bruxism (teeth grinding), Formication (in excessive doses), Urinary retention,
Pyrexia, Tachycardia, Tics, Urticaria, Increased Urination, perhaps due to increased amounts of water ingestion), Emotional Numbness, Detachment from reality
Rare side effects
Phonetic tics, high blood pressure, hallucinations, Tourette's syndrome, cardiomyopathy
It even says on there that the manufacturer claims that adderall lessens the ups and downs... The only side effects I experienced were excessive thirst, sweating, loss of appetite, excessive thirst, and a slight raise in blood pressure. But I have always had tachycardia, even before the stimulants. I take a beta blocker for that daily. I have had tremors for the last 15 years due to a car accident and the adderall actually made them better.
Check the website in sources for that wikipedia page.

My father has been drinking about 3 cans of Pepsi every day for the past 5 or 6 years. He hasn't had any health problems concerning his stomach. I don't know if the soda drinking really has anything to do with it. Then again there might be totally different factors between my father and you. Did your doctor SAY there was a connection? Possibly, the fact that you shan't drink soda is because it might interact with the medicine. I would just ask your doctor for more details.
