if my cousin has a kid what would I be to the kid and what would they be to me?are they my second cousins?am I their aunt?

I know that I'm only there aunt if my sister has kids ,but my friend keeps telling me that I am there aunt .I just wanted to see if she was right.thanks

2nd cuzins your only the aunt if it's your brother or your sister that has a baby

As I understand it, when your cousin, the child of your aunt and uncle, has a child, he or she is your second cousin. You can only be the aunt of your niece or nephew, so you're technically a great-aunt, just as you would be of your niece's and nephew's kids. I think.

First, it's "their." Secondly, if your cousin has a child that makes the child your second cousin once removed. ¥ou are NOT their aunt. You can only be an aunt to the children of your siblings. Get it?

A cousin's child would be your cousin. Second if it is the generation directly under you.
